Family Promise will host Cardboard Box City at the Cheyenne Depot Plaza on Sept. 9 to raise funds and awareness for homeless Cheyenne families.

There will be a $50 entry fee for participants to construct a cardboard box home starting at 4 p.m., and a prize will be awarded to the best-designed home. Duct tape and cardboard will be provided, along with a free T-shirt with the entry fee, and participants can sleep out if they choose. Bedding must be brought by those sleeping out.

Many free activities will be available for both participants and observers from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Alpacaglobo Balloons, Wishes Come True Entertainment, and a fire truck will be present. Oh Snap Photo Booth 307 will be taking commemorative photos with some of the profits going to Family Promise of Cheyenne. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. and guest speakers who have been helped by Family Promise will speak at 6 p.m. There will also be drawings for prizes throughout the event.
