Women’s soccer dominates game Northwest College

The Laramie County Community College women’s soccer team continued its dominant run this season when it hosted their third home game of the season on Saturday, Sept. 16, where they defeated the 0-4 Northwest College Trappers 10-0. The Golden Eagles outshot the Trappers 34-3 with 23 shots on goal.

The Golden Eagles got off to a strong start when Nikita Woods and Taylor Stoeger scored goals in the 3rd minute right after kickoff. The next goal didn’t happen until the 33rd minute when Katie Loken scored.

LCCC stormed out of the halftime break. Woods ended the game with a hat trick while Stoeger and Abby Morillon each had seven shots on goal, scoring two goals each. Loken also had two goals, and Alexis Hobbs scored in the 78th minute. Northwest did not score at all and Ellie Bowman, LCCC’s goalie, didn’t record a single save.

The Golden Eagles improved to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in Region IX while sitting in the number three spot in the national rankings. They will head to Gillette next to take on Gillette College Wednesday, Sept. 20 in their third Region IX game of the year.
