Team claims victory at Lamar rodeo by 10 points

Laramie County Community College men’s rodeo team got its first team win at the Lamar Community College rodeo over the weekend. The men’s team finished with a final score of 330, beating Central Wyoming College by 10 points.


Austin Hurlburt lead the way by finishing third in the men’s all-around with a final score of 65. Hurlburt also finished seventh in team roping heeler and fifth in tie-down roping with a time of 23.1 seconds. This was the first time this season Hurlburt didn’t finish first in tie-down roping.


Ryan Shuckburgh had the highest individual performance with a second place finish in steer wrestling. Shuckburgh finished with a time of 11.0 seconds, while Tyler Houle finished sixth in the same event.


The LCCC rodeo teams will be competing Friday, Oct. 6, through Sunday, Oct. 8, in Riverton, Wyoming.
