Phi Theta Kappa supports the troops

Phi Theta Kappa at Laramie County Community College has been working on a service project for Veterans. Phi Theta Kappa had teamed up with Student Veterans of America to give care packages and letters to the men and women in the National Guard who are recently deployed.

The food items that were donated were homemade cookies, hard candy, gummy candy, jerky, coffee, powdered drink mixes, flavor squirts, sunflower seeds

Some non food items that were donated were, shampoo/conditioner, bar soap, wet wipes, baby wipes, toilet paper, spray foot powder, batteries.

The entertainment that was donated were DVDs, small toys, puzzles, paperback novels, fidget spinners.

Mary Ludwig is a History Instructure at Laramie County Community College. Ludwig is one of the professors that helps Phi Theta Kappa and was successful with the food donations for the members of the National Guard.

The purpose of doing this according to Mary Ludwig was to create a service project for Phi Theta Kappa and also collect Items for the National Guard members.

This would be a great project but it would depend on the students interest to keep this going in the future.

“It will depend on what group of students and that students group interest.” Said Ludwig
