Women’s basketball earn two victories against Otero Junior College, Lamar Community College

The Golden Eagles women’s basketball team secured two wins at home over conference opponents Otero Junior College and Lamar Community College during back-to-back games Jan. 19-20.


LCCC cruised to a 63-53 victory over Otero Junior College on Jan. 19 and a 79-75 victory over Lamar Community College on Jan. 20 to improve to 12-9 on the year.


The Golden Eagles were lead by Darian Hale against Otero. Hale was the leading scorer for the game with 12 points while Courtney Walker had nine assists.


Madison Hamm recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and the Golden Eagles shot 43 percent from the field and 35 percent from three-point range.


The following day, the Golden Eagles faced off against 10-10 Lamar Community College at the Recreation and Athletics Complex.


The Golden Eagles offense was lead by Walker with 16 points and seven steals, while Karli O’Brien had 17 points along with seven rebounds. The Golden Eagles shot 46 percent from the field while going 6-15 from three-point range.


LCCC will host two more home games this week against McCook Community College on Jan. 24 and North Platte Community College on Jan 27.
