High school students can complete their high school equivalency through ACES

The Adult Career and Education System, or ACES, is giving high school students an opportunity to complete their high school equivalency with a new schedule of classes, free of charge at Laramie County Community College.

The program is available for residents 16 years or older.

The first session of classes starts on March 19 and are offered in the morning and afternoon. The second session starts March 26 and offers evening classes only.

There are two ways to complete the High School Equivalency Certificate tests. HiSET is offered through ACES, and GED 2014 is offered through LCCC’s Exam Lab. The classes help prepare students for the tests and are based on College and Career Readiness Standards.

Informative sessions will be held 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on March 13. The session will give an overview of the program and any questions participants may have. For students under the age of 18, parents are encouraged to attend.

ACES helps students develop skills that are necessary for future employment or for furthering education. The sessions have combined training in academics, communication skills and college and career transitions.

For more information or to reserve a space in these classes, contact LCCC’s Adult Career and Education System at (307) 637-2450.
