Lyle Lovett & His Large Band to perform at the Civic Center

The Cheyenne Civic Center will host a musical performance by Lyle Lovett & His Large Band on Sept. 5. Tickets went on sale March 16 and can now be purchased online at www.cheyenneciviccenter.org, in person at the box office, located at 510 W. 20th St. in Cheyenne, or by calling 307-637-6363.

“Not only will Lovett’s iconic voice be center stage, but the audience will be enveloped by the sound of more than a dozen band mates performing selections from their Grammy award-winning album,” Reese Ruiz, a City of Cheyenne employee, said.

Lovett, hailing from Texas, has been a singer, composer and actor throughout his career, which includes the creation of 14 albums beginning in 1986. His musical style includes elements of multiple traditional genres fused together. His awards include four Grammys, the inaugural Trailblazer Award from the Americana Music Association and the title of Texas’s State Musician.

“His works, rich and eclectic, are some of the most beloved of any artist working today,” Ruiz said.
