Cheyenne Depot Plaza Events

 

The Cheyenne Depot, originally a Union Pacific Depot, has been restored to its original glory and is home to a museum, visitor center and restaurant. The Plaza outside will host a plethora of events this summer ranging from live music, pancake breakfasts, festivals and other social events.

 

Cheyenne Train Weekend

When: Saturday, May 18, and Sunday, May 19, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: 121 W. 15th Street

What it is: Starting in May, the plaza will host Cheyenne Train Weekend. There will be exhibits and tours of the historic UP roundhouse and WASATCH RR Contractors. The Sherman Hill Model Railroad show will also be on display at frontier park.

Fridays on the Plaza

When: Fridays, June 1 untill Sept. 7, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Where: 121 W. 15th Street

What it is: Fridays on the Plaza will happen every Friday until the first Friday of September. The plaza will host live local bands, the band may be apart of the festival weekend, there are no pets allowed, chairs will be provided and food vendors will be selling hot food, lemonade, soft drinks and beer.

Hispanic Festival

When: Friday, June 1, and Saturday, June 2.

Where: 121 W. 15th Street

What it is: The plaza will host the Hispanic Festival, come listen to live music and experience educational exhibits, food and craft vendors, piñatas and other kid friendly activities. There will be a  50/50 raffle and car show.

Cost: Free.

Celtic Festival

When: Friday, June 8, and Saturday, June 98.

Where: 121 W. 15th Street

What it is: The Depot will host the Celtic Festival. On display will be bagpipers, dance performances, specialty beers, a scotch tasting and Iirish food and craft vendors.

Wyoming Brewers Festival

When: Friday, June 15, and Saturday, June 16, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: 121 W. 15th Street

What it is: The two-day event will host live music from local bands and there will be more than 75 different brews of beer including over 30 plus regional and national brewers offering specialty beers. Food trucks serving a wide array of options will be available. The local brewers from the surrounding states will compete in thean American Homebrewers Association 6th annual homebrew competition.

Cost: The single night pass is $35 dollars and offers free beverages and the weekend pass is $60 dollars.

Frontier Days Pancake Breakfasts

When: Monday, July 23, Wednesday, July 25, Friday, July 27, 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Where: 121 W. 15th Street

What it is: In July, Cheyenne will host the world’s largest outdoor rodeo, Cheyenne Frontier Days, a part of the historical event will be the pancake breakfast. The event will serve up more than 100,000 pancakes, 3,000 pounds of ham, 9,200 cartons of milk and 520 gallons of coffee.

Cheyenne Zombiefest

When: Saturday, Sept. 15.

Where: 121 W. 15th Street

What it is: The Cheyenne Little Theater Players will host Zombiefest where Cheyenne and the Depot Plaza will be overrun by Zombies. Special events and games will be available.
