Fall elections for the Student Government Association will be held online the fourth week of September.
SGA will hold a candidate forum on Sept. 18. Candidates will be allowed to speak briefly about why they would like to be part of the organization and why they should be elected.
Constance Woolhether was elected President and Derek Goldfuss was elected Vice President last spring. Several senators were also elected last spring.
According to Coordinator for Student Engagement and Diversity Zeke Sorenson, there are 12 senate positions up for election this fall. So far, student interest in these positions is a little lower than usual. However, the deadline is Sept. 21, so there is still time for students to apply.
SGA is responsible for voicing student concerns to administration. Spring semester they are responsible for allocating SAFAC funds. Additionally, LCCC administration must inform SGA of any major changes that may impact students.
SGA’s first meeting will be held Oct. 2. Meetings will then be held every Tuesday from 12:30-1:20 p.m. in Crossroads 104. Meetings are open to the public.
