Rodeo team opens season in Chadron, travels to Sheridan

The LCCC rodeo team kicked off the fall season with a pair of  fifth-place finishes at the Chadron State Rodeo on Sept. 14-16 in Chadron, Neb.


The men took fifth with 260 points. The Golden Eagles were led by Rance Johnson, who recorded a time of 23 seconds and took second in the tie-down roping. Ryan Shuckbrugh took sixth in the steer wrestling with a time of 11.5 seconds.


The women’s team also took fifth with a score of 130 points. The Golden Eagles were led by Sydney Graff, who took fourth in the breakaway roping with a time of 6.2 seconds.  Graff was followed by Morgan Darnell, who took sixth with a time of 2.4 seconds, and Laramei Bain, who took eighth with a time of 2.6 seconds.


The Golden Eagles both are in fifth place in the conference standings. . The rodeo team travels to Sheridan on Sept. 21 to compete in the Sheridan College Rodeo.
