Volleyball snags comeback win

The Laramie County Community College volleyball team picked up two conference victories this weekend and its fourth straight win overall.

On Sept. 28, the Golden Eagles beat Central Wyoming College 3-0 in Riverton. Avery Nelson had 12 kills while Payton Stack notched eight kills and five blocks. Gwen Sheldon recorded 16 assists and five aces.

The Golden Eagles beat the Western Wyoming Community College 3-2 on Sept. 29. The Golden Eagles dropped the first two matches, 25-23 and 25-22, before storming back to win three straight matches, 25-11, 25-14, 15-13. Nelson had 17 kills to lead LCCC.  

The Golden Eagles travel to Powell, Wyoming, to take on Northwest College at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5. LCCC then heads to Sheridan for a 3 p.m. matchup on Saturday, Oct. 6.
