Men’s soccer win Region IX championship

The Golden Eagles are soaring the Region IX. With back to back wins in the region tournament the Laramie County Community College men’s soccer team became Region IX Champions.

Men’s soccer opened up its week on Oct. 26 at Metro State University with a 2-1 win over  Gillette College in the Region IX semifinal game. Max Holland had the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute, putting the Golden Eagles ahead for the win.

The Golden Eagles then advanced to the Region IX Championship game, facing off against Sheridan College on Oct. 27. Men’s soccer held the regional rivals to a shutout, winning the game 2-0. Ricardo Vasquez and Holland scored a goal each.

The Golden Eagles head to Tucson, Ariz. to battle No. 3 in the nation Pima Community College on Nov. 3. A time has not been set.
