Men’s basketball were 1-2 last week

The Laramie County Community College men’s basketball team went 1-2 for the week of Nov. 5.


LCCC started the week with a 71-55 loss at Northeastern Junior College. The Golden Eagles had three players in double figures, with Cortney Dean leading the charge with 12 points and Tyrese Ptoma and Mateo Zvorko each adding 11.


The Golden Eagles lost their home opener Nov. 9 against North Platte Community College in overtime 75-68. Ptoma scored 12 points while Zvorko added 13.


The next day the Golden Eagles would avenge the overtime loss and beat McCook Community College 80-74. Ptoma put up a game-high 30 points, while Daequan Spragion added 20 points for the Golden Eagles.


“Our perimeter shooting finally came around,” head coach Jason Ficca said.


LCCC plays at home again at 7 p.m. on Nov. 16 against Power 2 Play Elite.
