Demistifying CBD

You may have noticed an abundance of ‘CBD sold here’ signs in town recently and wondered what is CBD and the big hype for it all. Well, CBD or its full name Cannabidiol. Just like THC, CBD is part of the same class called “cannabinoids” that naturally comes from the cannabis plant.

According to studies from Harvard’s Health Publishing, unlike THC, it won’t get you high but it does have a lot of the same benefits and is quickly gaining popularity. For those who are scared of trying CBD, it can give the user a more natural way of helping your anxiety, chronic pain, seizures or other illnesses.

CBD has a lot of good properties.  Andrew Tobar, an employee of Natural Wellness, says his family has been helping the residents of Cheyenne who have been coming to purchase different forms of the cannabinoid. They have many different products such as creams, edibles, tinctures and more.”

Though recreational and medical marijuana has not been legalized in the state of Wyoming, CBD that has less than 0.3% THC is legal. Additionally, state law allows residents to  grow, harvest and sell hemp when it’s considered an agricultural crop. Growers are required to pass a criminal background check.

Ten states are fully legal with recreational and medical marijuana. Twenty-three states have legalized only medical and only thirty-three states have some form of marijuana which CBD is a part of. Many states have strict regulations and it can be a very fine line of who can and cannot get approved for selling and buying CBD in some states.
