LCCC Rodeo team hosts annual Lariat ‘n’ Lace Benefit Auction

Though the LCCC Rodeo Team doesn’t start competing until March, they stay busy at the college and with the team itself. The team and coach Seth Glause are busy planning their annual benefit auction and fundraiser, Lariat ‘N’ Lace, which takes place on Feb. 15

“We do a community event: it’s a dinner, an auction and a silent auction,” Glause said. “The proceeds from our event go directly to our Shawn Dubie Memorial Foundation account. This account is then used to give the Rodeo student athletes scholarship opportunities while the rest of what’s left goes to help the rodeo program with things such as equipment.”

“A lot of our auction items are donated by our students, the Rodeo team,” Glause said. “They either make something, get something donated or get help from family members. Then we’ll also have people in the community who will donate items to us.”

This is the fourth year that Glause and the Rodeo team have hosted the Lariat ‘n’ Lace benefit auction.

“It’s increased every year.” Glause said. “The first year we had it, we sold out the Kiwanis House. The second year we sold out the Red Lion Hotel, and then last year we sold 550 tickets at Little America, and that’s kind of become our permanent home.”

The Lariat ‘n’ Lace event will be on February 15 at Little America Hotel, 2800 W. Lincolnway. The event’s silent auction previews at 4:30 p.m, with a 5:30 p.m. social hour and dinner  45 minutes later. The event ends with auctions and a live band. Individual tickets to the event are $50, or $600 for a table of eight and $750 for a table of 10. The tables of 8 and 10 includes two bottles of wine; logo/name in program and table and social media recognition.
